A New Tightening Procedure For Water Pump Bolts {1361}

Reference: Disassembly and Assembly, SENR9595, "Water Pump - Install"
Reference: Specification, SENR9597, "Water Pump".
A new tightening procedure for the water pump bolts is being used on the above engine.

Clean the mating surfaces of the water pump and the engine block. Install the O-ring seal on the water pump.
Mount water pump (1) on the engine block. Install mounting bolts (2) and tighten to a torque of 55 ± 10 N·m (40 ± 7 lb ft). Tighten water pump bolts (2) again to a torque of 55 ± 10 N·m (40 ± 7 lb ft).
Note: Ensure that all applicable manuals are updated with the new torque procedure.
