Aftercooler
When the turbocharger compresses the mixture of air and fuel, the temperature rises. A water cooled aftercooler is located between the turbocharger and the air inlet manifold. The aftercooler reduces the temperature of the air from the turbocharger. The cooler air is more dense and the cooler air provides more oxygen for combustion. More oxygen enables more fuel to be burned. This enables an increase in engine power.
