Alarms
"PLC Failure Alarm"
The "PLC Failure Alarm" contacts are controlled by the relay for the PLC Functioning Alarm. The relay is energized when the PLC is in good health and the PLC is running.
"Speed Failure Alarm"
The "Speed Failure Alarm" contacts are controlled by the relay for Speed Failure Alarm. The relay is energized when the engine speed switch is in good health. The relay pulses when the engine speed switch detects a failure in the active engine speed sensor.
"Summary Alarm"
The "Summary Alarm" contacts are controlled by the relay for summary alarm. The relay pulses when an alarm for engine protection or a failure in a sensor has occurred and the alarm or failure is not acknowledged. The relay is energized if the alarm or failure is acknowledged and the alarm or failure is still active. If the alarm or failure is cleared, the relay will de-energize.
Shutdowns
"Crankcase Pressure High Shutdown"
The "Crankcase Pressure High Shutdown" contacts are controlled by the relay for high crankcase pressure. The relay will energize when a shutdown for high crankcase pressure is detected.
"Customer Shutdown"
The "Customer Shutdown" contacts are controlled by the Customer Shutdown Relay. The relay will energize when a shutdown by the customer is detected.
"Low Speed Low Oil Pressure Shutdown"
The "Low Speed Low Oil Pressure Shutdown" contacts are controlled by the relay for low oil pressure at low speed. The relay will energize when a shutdown for low oil pressure at low speed is detected.
"High Speed Low Oil Pressure Shutdown"
The "High Speed Low Oil Pressure Shutdown" contacts are controlled by the relay for low oil pressure at high speed. The relay will energize when a shutdown for low oil pressure at high speed is detected.
"Summary Shutdown"
The "Summary Shutdown" contacts are controlled by the relay for summary shutdown. The relay will pulse when a shutdown for engine protection has occurred and the shutdown has not been acknowledged. The relay will energize when a shutdown for engine protection is detected. The relay is energized if the shutdown is acknowledged and the shutdown is still active. If the shutdown is cleared, the relay will de-energize.
Status Indicators
"Circuit Breaker Not Tripped"
The terminals indicate the status of the circuit breakers. If any circuit breakers are OFF in the control panel, no continuity is seen through the contacts. If any circuit breakers are ON in the control panel, continuity is seen through the contacts.
"Engine Prelubed"
The contacts for prelube of the engine are controlled by the relay for the start oil sensor. The relay is energized when the start oil sensor detects engine prelube.
"Engine Running"
The contacts for the running of the engine are controlled by the relay for crank terminate speed. The relay is energized when the PLC or the engine speed switch detects the running of the engine.
"Fuel Control"
The contacts for fuel control are controlled by the relay for the fuel control. The relay is energized when the PLC, relay logic, or the operator is asking the engine to shutdown.
"Intermittent Prelubing"
The contacts for intermittent prelubing are controlled by the relay for intermittent prelubing. The relay is energized when the PLC or the relay logic is asking the intermittent pump to run.
"Reduce Load"
The contacts for reduce load are controlled by the relay for reduce load. The relay is energized when the PLC has detected an alarm for reduce load.
"Remote Horn and Beacon"
The contacts for remote horn and beacon are controlled by the relay for remote horn and beacon. The relay is energized when the relay for summary alarm is active or the relay for summary shutdown is active.
"Remote Mode Active"
The contacts for remote mode active are controlled by the relay for remote mode active. The relay is energized when the engine control switch is in the "Remote Mode" position.
Relays for Programmable Speed Control
"Programmable Speed Control Relays #1 and #2"
The contacts for programmable speed control are controlled by the logic of the PLC and the engine speed. The user can configure the output to be energized or de-energized in a specific speed range. Refer to Systems Operation, "Marine Monitring System Configuration" for more information.
"Programmable Speed Control Relays #1" is used for compressor bypass if the engine is equipped. If compressor bypass is used on the engine, the relay that controls terminals 212A, 212B, and 212C are active when the bypass is active. The contacts can be used in order to control a function in a specific range of engine speed if the bypass is not used.
"Programmable Speed Control Relays #2" can be used in order to control a function in a specific range of engine speed.
