- Engine:
- G3500 Series
Description of Change: A new integral seal is being used in the water lines groups on these gas engines. See Illustration 1. The former integral seal includes a rubber bead on the inside edge of an aluminum plate. See Illustration 2. The rubber bead could come loose from the plate. This could result in a coolant leak. The new integral seal includes a rubber bead on each side of a steel plate. See Illustration 3. When the new integral seal is installed, the rubber beads are trapped between the cylinder head and the riser tube flange. This helps prevent coolant leaks. The steel plate of the new integral seal is more compatible with the coolant that is used in cogeneration applications.
