Pinion Clearance - Adjust

Usage:

Bila solenoid sudah terpasang, lakukan penyetelan jarak bebas pinion. Penyetelan dapat dilakukan dengan motor starter dilepaskan.

Koneksi untuk pemeriksaan jarak bebas pinion
(1) Kabel negatif motor starter

  1. Putuskan kabel negatif motor starter (1) dari terminal ground "G" (2) solenoid.

  2. Sambungkan baterai ke solenoid sesuai Gambar 1. Gambar 1 menunjukkan sistem 24 volt dengan dua baterai 12 volt yang tersambung secara seri ke motor starter. Sambungkan empat baterai 8 volt secara seri untuk sistem 32 volt. Sambungkan delapan baterai 8 volt secara seri untuk sistem 64 volt. Sambungkan sisi positif kabel baterai ke terminal "S" solenoid motor starter. Sambungkan sisi negatif kabel baterai ke terminal "G" motor starter.

  3. Sentuhkan sesaat kabel dari terminal "G" ke terminal "Mtr". Pinion akan berpindah ke posisi start dan pinion akan tetap di posisi itu sampai baterai dilepas.

  4. Dorong pinion ke arah komutator untuk menghentikan gerakan bebas.

  5. Ukur jarak bebas (X) dari pinion ke rumah penggerak pinion. Jarak bebas pinion (X) harus sebesar 9.10 ± 0.8 mm (0.36 ± 0.03 inch).

  6. Jika jarak bebas tidak benar, lepaskan sumbat pada rumah tuas pemindah gigi (3). Putar mur pengatur (2) hingga jarak bebas sudah benar. Memutar mur searah jarum jam akan mengurangi jarak bebas (X).

    Catatan: Plunger dapat berputar saat mur pengatur (2) diputar. Jika plunger berputar, putuskan baterai dari solenoid. Lepaskan solenoid dari motor starter. Tahan plunger agar tidak berputar dan setel mur (2). Prosedur ini mungkin harus dilakukan beberapa kali hingga diperoleh jarak bebas yang benar.

  7. Putuskan baterai dan pasang sumbat pada rumah tuas pemindah gigi.
