Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
Personal injury or death may result from failure to adhere to the following procedures. Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire. Clean up all leaked or spilled fuel. Do not smoke while working on the fuel system. Turn the disconnect switch OFF or disconnect the battery when changing fuel filters. |
- Use Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to position fuel tank (17) on the machine. The weight of fuel tank (17) is approximately 63 kg (140 lb).

- Install the spacers and bolts (18). Repeat for the other side.

- Connect hoses (15) and (14). Open valve (16) .

- Connect clip (10). Install all necessary cable straps (12) .

- Connect harness assemblies (13) and (9). Connect hoses (11) and (8) .
- Install four bolts (6). Install bolt (5). Close door (7) .

- Install guard (4) .

- Use a suitable lifting device to install side door (1) on the machine. The weight of side door (1) is approximately 34 kg (75 lb).

- Install bolts (3) in order to secure side door (1) .
