Main Hydraulic Pump - Remove

Usage:

308D FYC

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the counterweight. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Counterweight - Remove and Install".


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.


  1. Drain the hydraulic tank into a suitable container for storage or for disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil - Change".

  1. Remove panel (1) .

  1. Disconnect clip (3). Remove panel (2) .

  1. Disconnect panel (4). Panel (4) must be removed with the main hydraulic pump.

  1. Disconnect hose assemblies (5), (6), (7), (8), and (9) .

  1. Remove bolts (10) and disconnect tube assembly (11) .

  1. Attach a suitable lifting device to main hydraulic pump (13). The weight of main hydraulic pump (13) is approximately 68 kg (150 lb).

  1. Remove bolts (12) .

  1. Remove main hydraulic pump (13) and panel (4) .

  1. Position the main hydraulic pump, as shown.

  1. Remove three bolts (15) and coupling (14) .

  1. Loosen two bolts (16) and remove adapter (17) .

  1. Remove four bolts (19) and flange (18) .
