Removal Procedure

1. Drain the Coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container for storage or for disposal.

2. Remove bolts (1) and reposition bracket assembly (2) .

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force. Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment. Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.

3. Disconnect gas spring (4). Reposition and secure cover assembly (3) .

4. Disconnect hose (6) and remove elbow (5) .

5. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to the engine. Apply slight lifting tension to the engine. The weight of the engine is approximately 770 kg (1700 lb).

6. Remove bolt (7) and washer (8). Remove bolts (10) and mount assembly (9). Remove plate (11) .

1. Install plate (11). Install mount assembly (9) and bolts (10). Install washer (8) and bolt (7) .

2. Use a Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device in order to relieve tension on the engine.

3. Install elbow (5) and connect hose (6) .

Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury. To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.

4. Position cover assembly (3). Connect gas spring (4) .

5. Position bracket assembly (2) and install bolts (1) .

6. Fill the coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change".
