(1) At assembly, O-rings of floating seals and all surfaces in contact with the O-rings must be clean and dry. Prior to installation, apply a thin film of oil on the contacting surfaces of the metal seal rings. The seal rings must be assembled square with the bore. The toric rings must not bulge and the toric rings must not twist.
(2) End Play:
- Minimum ... 0.25 mm (.010 inch)
- Maximum ... 1.25 mm (.049 inch)
(3) Add .18 ± .01 L (.048 ± .003 US gal) of SAE 30 CD oil before the plug is installed.
(4) Prior to assembly, the shaft must be free from paint. ... 67 ± 5 mm (3 ± 0.19 inch)
