Low NO_X Program Now has an Automatic Service Information Management System (SIMS) Entry for 3126B Truck Engines {1000, 1088}

Truck Engines: 3126B (S/N: 7AS1-37588)

Truck engines that are rebuilt under the revised RP5580 Program for Low NO_X will now get an automatic SIMS entry after a password is obtained. The RP5580 Program for the 3126B Truck Engines was started on 26March 2000. This automatic SIMS entry is the same entry as the automatic SIMS entry from the RP5580 program that is used for the 3406E Truck Engine. The RP5580 program for the 3406E Truck Engine was started on 28December 1999.

The 3126B Truck Engines now have two flash files for each engine rating. One file is used by the RP5580 program for Low NO_X engine overhauls. The second flash file is for engines that are not being overhauled.

Note: An overhaul requires a Low NO_X kit under the following conditions. The overhaul includes the replacement or repair of any of the following items:

four or more pistons
four or more sets of piston rings
four or more cylinder liners
