Hydraulic Cylinder Cycle Time - Check

Usage:

BH150 GGK
Note: The engine speed that is used during this test can affect the results of this test. The host machine must be at high idle.

Note: During the tests, the work tool may hit the ground heavily. Care should be taken in order to protect the finished ground surface. Avoid striking any objects near the machine.

  1. Perform the following steps in order to test the operating speed of the boom cylinders.

      (B) Extension test

    1. Start the engine.

    1. Place the machine on level ground.

    1. Extend the stabilizers until the stabilizers touch the ground without raising the machine.

    1. Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 55° ± 5°C (131° ± 9°F).

    1. Empty the bucket.

    1. Fully extend the bucket cylinder and fully retract the stick cylinder. Refer to Illustration 1.

    1. Position the bucket on the ground. With a stopwatch, measure the time that is required to fully retract the boom cylinder.

    1. Position the boom cylinder at full retraction. With a stopwatch, measure the time that is required for the bucket to come in contact with the ground.

    1. Refer to the specifications in Table 2 for the operating speed of the boom cylinder.

  1. Perform the following steps in order to test the operating speed of the stick cylinder.

    1. Start the engine.

    1. Place the machine on level ground.

    1. Extend the stabilizers until the stabilizers touch the ground without raising the machine.

    1. Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 55° ± 5°C (131° ± 9°F).

    1. Empty the bucket.

    1. Position the boom cylinder at full retraction.

    1. Fully extend the bucket cylinder. Refer to Illustration 2.

    1. Fully retract the stick cylinder. With a stopwatch, measure the time that is required to fully extend the stick cylinder.

    1. Fully extend the stick cylinder. With a stopwatch, measure the time that is required to fully retract the stick cylinder.

    1. Refer to the specifications in Table 2 for the operating speed of the stick cylinder.

  1. Perform the following steps in order to test the operating speed of the bucket cylinder.

    1. Start the engine.

    1. Place the machine on level ground.

    1. Extend the stabilizers until the stabilizers touch the ground without raising the machine.

    1. Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 55° ± 5°C (131° ± 9°F).

    1. Position the boom cylinder at full retraction.

    1. Position the stick so that the stick is perpendicular to the ground. Refer to Illustration 3.

    1. Fully retract the bucket cylinder. With a stopwatch, measure the time that is required to fully extend the bucket cylinder.

    1. Fully extend the bucket cylinder. With a stopwatch, measure the time that is required to fully retract the bucket cylinder.

    1. Refer to the specifications in Table 2 for the operating speed of the bucket cylinder.

  1. Perform the following steps in order to test the operating speed of the stabilizer cylinders.

    1. Start the engine.

    1. Place the machine on level ground.

    1. Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 55° ± 5°C (131° ± 9°F).

    1. Fully extend both stabilizer cylinders to the ground. Refer to Illustration 4.

    1. With a stopwatch, measure the time that is required to fully retract one stabilizer cylinder.

    1. With a stopwatch, measure the time that is required to fully extend the retracted stabilizer cylinder to the ground.

    1. Refer to the specifications in Table 2 for the operating speed of the stabilizer cylinders.

  1. Perform the following steps in order to test the operating speed of the boom swing cylinder.

    1. Start the engine.

    1. Place the machine on level ground.

    1. Extend the stabilizers until the stabilizers touch the ground without raising the machine.

    1. Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 55° ± 5°C (131° ± 9°F).

    1. Position the stick so that the stick is perpendicular to the ground. Fully retract the boom cylinder.

    1. Position the boom swing against the swing stop. With a stopwatch, measure the time that is required to fully rotate the boom to the other swing stop.

    1. Position the boom swing against the swing stop. With a stopwatch, measure the time that is required to fully rotate the boom to the other swing stop.

    1. Refer to the specifications in Table 2 for the operating speed of the boom swing cylinders.
