Hydraulic Cylinder Cycle Time - Check
Note: The engine speed that is used during this test can affect the results of this test. The host machine must be at high idle.
Note: During the tests, the work tool may hit the ground heavily. Care should be taken in order to protect the finished ground surface. Avoid striking any objects near the machine.

(A) Retraction test
(B) Extension test
- Place the machine on level ground.
- Extend the stabilizers until the stabilizers touch the ground without raising the machine.
- Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 55° ± 5°C (131° ± 9°F).
- Empty the bucket.
- Fully extend the bucket cylinder and fully retract the stick cylinder. Refer to Illustration 1.
- Position the bucket on the ground. With a stopwatch, measure the time that is required to fully retract the boom cylinder.
- Position the boom cylinder at full retraction. With a stopwatch, measure the time that is required for the bucket to come in contact with the ground.
- Refer to the specifications in Table 2 for the operating speed of the boom cylinder.
- Perform the following steps in order to test the operating speed of the stick cylinder.
- Start the engine.
