Cab Tilting

Usage:

W345C MH R5K
The cab and the cab riser must be tilted in order to lower the overall height of the machine for shipping. A lifting device such as a crane is needed in order to tilt the cab.

------ WARNING! ------

Do not tilt the cab when occupied. Before tilting the cab remove all loose articles from the cab, secure all windows and emergency exits, and then close the cab and cab riser doors. Failure to do so can result in personal injury or damage to the machine.

    Storage location for the cab support brackets inside the cab riser

  1. Remove the cab support brackets. The brackets are used in order to brace the cab and the cab riser while the machine is being transported.

  1. Attach a suitable lifting device to the two lifting rings.

    Note: The lifting rings are located in the top rear corners of the cab. The approximate weight of the cab, platform, and cab riser is 1700 kg (3750 lb).

    Cab retention bolts for front of cab riser

  1. Remove cab retention bolts (1) from the front of the cab riser compartment and install the cab retention bolts in weld nuts (3) .

  1. Remove cab retention bolts (2) from the rear of the cab riser compartment and install the cab retention bolts in weld nuts (3) .

    NOTICE

    Improper lifting or tiedowns can allow load to shift and cause injury or damage.



    NOTICE

    Do not apply too much pressure with the lifting device being used. Damage to the riser frame may occur.


  1. Move the cab riser until the cab riser is beyond the center point.

  1. Slowly lower the cab riser until the brackets can be installed, as shown.

  1. Attach a suitable lifting device to the two lifting rings.

    Note: The lifting rings are located in the top rear corners of the cab. The approximate weight of the cab, platform, and cab riser is 1700 kg (3750 lb).

  1. Remove the cab support brackets.

    NOTICE

    Do not apply too much pressure with the lifting device being used. Damage to the riser frame may occur.


  1. Raise the cab riser until the cab riser is beyond the center point.

  1. Slowly lower the cab riser until the cab riser is in the original position.

    Cab retention bolts for rear of cab riser

  1. Remove the cab retention bolts from the weld nuts (3). Install cab retention bolts (2) for the rear of the cab riser.

  1. Remove the cab retention bolts from the weld nuts (3). Install cab retention bolts (1) for the front of the cab riser.

  1. Remove the lifting device from the cab.

  1. Install the brackets in the storage location inside the cab riser.
