When you release the joysticks from any position, the joysticks will return to HOLD position (9) . Movement of the upper structure will stop.

The machine control pattern is initially set at the factory to the SAE system, as shown. The pattern on the left pertains to the left joystick and the pattern on the right pertains to the right joystick.

The machine control pattern can be varied by using the two-way valve. For further information, see your Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Joystick Controls Alternate Patterns".

Two functions may be performed at the same time by moving a joystick diagonally.

On a machine with a grapple or a clamshell bucket, the function of positions (6) and (8) are different from the bucket controls. The other positions on the joystick are identical to the bucket controls.

Open (6) - Move the joystick to this position in order to open the work tool.

Close (8) - Move the joystick to this position in order to close the work tool.

Hold (9) - When you release the joystick from any position, the joystick will return to the HOLD position.

Manual Low Idle (13) - Press the lower left switch on the back of the right joystick in order to activate low engine speed. Press the switch again in order to return the engine speed to the original setting for the throttle position switch.

The manual low idle allows the operator to easily reduce the rpm without touching the throttle position switch. This is useful when the operator wants to reduce the engine speed in order to talk to someone or while the operator is waiting for a truck.

Hydraulic Modulation Switch (14) - Press the front button on the right joystick in order to activate the soft panel switch for hydraulic modulation. Press the front button again in order to return to the normal conditions of the joystick.

Left Joystick
