Description of Change: A new pump coupling has increased strength. The stronger coupling prevents the pump shaft from failure. Changes also include a new flywheel and a new viscous damper in order to improve the durability of pump coupling gp.

Adaptable To: The new components replace the former components in the main hydraulic pump and mounting group. The new components and the former components are listed in Table 1. The effectivity and the adaptability of the new components is listed in Table 2. The location of the new components is shown in the illustrations.

The new 3E-4895 Flange, 239-6599 Hub, and eight 5S-7382 Bolts can be used in place of the former 255-2945 Flexible Coupling Gp. The new 167-8121 Damper can be used in place of the former 203-6088 Damper. The new 202-2382 Flywheel As can be used in place of the former 160-8180 Flywheel As. Replace the former basic pump coupling gp, the damper, or the flywheel assembly with the new part number, if the shaft for the main hydraulic pump fails.

Note: If the shaft for the main hydraulic pump fails, thoroughly inspect the flywheel assembly, the pump coupling, and the engine for damage. Complete inspection will determine the new components that are required for the repair.

Note: Make sure that the 239-6599 Hub (2) is flush with the end of the shaft for the pump. Tighten the 239-6599 Hub bolt to a torque of 240 ± 20 N·m (177 ± 15 lb ft). Molybdenum grease may be applied on the spline of the pump shaft in order to aid assembly. Tighten the eight 5S-7382 Bolts (4) on the 3E-4895 Flange to a torque of 49 ± 5 N·m (36 ± 4 lb ft).
