The tightening sequence for the cylinder head bolts follows:

  1. In a numerical sequence, tighten bolts 1 through 18.

    Torque for bolts ... 270 ± 15 N·m (199 ± 11 lb ft)

  1. In a numerical sequence, tighten bolts 1 through 18.

    Torque for bolts ... 450 ± 15 N·m (332 ± 11 lb ft)

  1. In a numerical sequence, again tighten bolts 1 through 18.

    Torque for bolts ... 450 ± 15 N·m (332 ± 11 lb ft)

  1. In a numerical sequence, tighten nuts 19 through 27.

    Torque for nuts ... 45 ± 7 N·m (33 ± 5 lb ft)

(28) Tighten the exhaust manifold studs that are in each cylinder head to the following torque. ... 35 ± 5 N·m (26 ± 4 lb ft)

(29) Height of new cylinder head ... 112.78 ± 0.25 mm (4.440 ± 0.010 inch)

Note: Use 6V-6640 RTV Silicone Sealant on the plugs.

(30) The plugs are installed into the cylinder head at the following depth. ... 4.5 ± 0.5 mm (0.18 ± 0.02 inch)

(31) The plugs are installed into the cylinder head at the following depth. ... 2.0 ± 0.5 mm (0.08 ± 0.02 inch)

Note: Use 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound on the threads of the injector sleeve.

(32) Tighten the injector sleeve to the following torque. ... 100 ± 10 N·m (74 ± 7 lb ft)

(40) Tighten the exhaust manifold studs that are in each cylinder head to the following torque. ... 35 ± 5 N·m (26 ± 4 lb ft)
