(1) Turbocharger
(2) Coolant outlet tube (3) Aftercooler (4) Exhaust manifold (5) Coolant inlet tube |
The aftercooler (3) is located on the top rear of the engine. The aftercooler has a two-stage core assembly. Coolant from the jacket water inlet flows through coolant inlet tube (5). Coolant circulates through the first stage of the aftercooler core. The coolant then exits the aftercooler through the coolant outlet tube (2).
The second stage of the aftercooler provides additional cooling of the air/fuel mixture. The components of cooling system for the second stage may be provided by the customer.
The air/fuel mixture from the compressor side of turbocharger (1) flows into the aftercooler housing. The aftercooler core reduces the temperature of the air/fuel mixture. The cooler air/fuel mixture is directed through the throttle into the inlets of the cylinders.
