Engine Mounts - Inspect

Usage:

3608 1ZD
Inspect the bolts of the engine support assemblies. Make sure that the bolts are properly torqued.

Inspect the condition of the isolators. Keep the isolators clean and dry. Ensure that the isolators are free of oil and contamination.

    (Dimension) H
    (Clearance ) Z

  1. Measure dimension (H). The minimum acceptable dimension is 76.2 mm (3 inch). If dimension (H) is less than 76.2 mm (3 inch), replace the isolator.

  2. Use a feeler gauge to measure clearance (Z). The correct clearance is 2.451 ± 0.495 mm (0.0965 ± 0.0195 inch).

If necessary, use spacers to adjust the clearance. Adjust the clearance to the least tolerance of the range. This will help to accommodate movement that will increase the clearance.

    (Q) Clearance

  3. Use a feeler gauge to measure clearance (Q). The correct clearance is 2.451 ± 0.495 mm (0.0965 ± 0.0195 inch).

If necessary, use shims to adjust the clearance. Adjust the clearance to the highest tolerance of the range. This will help to accommodate movement that will reduce the clearance.

Any difference in the dimension indicates that the height of the isolator has changed. A change in the height of the isolator will result in misalignment between the engine and the driven equipment.
