Installation Procedure

1. Thoroughly clean the pin bores in the stick before installing the bearings and the seals.

(Y) Sleeve bearing

2. Lower the temperature of sleeve bearing (2) for the pin joint for the boom. Use Tooling (A) in order to install sleeve bearing (2) in the stick. Install the sleeve bearing until Dimension (A) is 9.5 ± 0.8 mm (0.37 ± 0.03 inch) below the outside surface of the stick.

3. Use Tooling (A) in order to install lip seal (1) in the pin joint for the boom. The sealing lip must face the outside of the pin bore in order to prevent dirt and debris from entering the pin bore. Install the seal against the bearing.

4. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 in order to install the bearing and seal on the opposite side of the stick.

(X) Stick (Y) Sleeve bearing

5. Lower the temperature of sleeve bearing (4) for the pin joint for the bucket. Use Tooling (A) in order to install sleeve bearing (4) in the pin joint. Install the sleeve bearing in the pin bore until Dimension (D) is 5.5 ± 0.8 mm (0.22 ± 0.03 inch) below the outside surface of the stick.

6. Use Tooling (A) in order to install lip seal (3) in the pin joint for the bucket. The seal must be installed with the lip toward the outside of the pin bore in order to prevent dirt and debris from entering the pin bore. Install the seal against the bearing.

7. Repeat Steps 5 and 6 in order to install the bearing and seal on the opposite side of the stick.

End By: Install the stick. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Stick - Install".
