Attach the generator leads (1) to the strip of the bus bar (2) in the following manner:

  1. When more than one lead attaches to the bus bar, place leads on each side of the bus bar. Use flat plated washer (3) under the bolt head and under the nut.

  1. Group all generator phase leads together after the leads are connected to the bus bar. Tie these leads together.

Ensure that there is a minimum clearance of 190 mm (7.480 inch) between the insulated connections (phase to phase). Ensure that there is a minimum clearance of 127 mm (5.000 inch) between uninsulated connections (phase to ground).

Ensure that a minimum clearance exists between cables. Minimum clearance between the cables will depend on the type of cable that is used. For minimum clearance, refer to the cable's specifications.

Observe caution. Follow the manufacturer's specifications for proper termination of high voltage wires.
