Removal Procedure


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.


  1. Put identification marks on all lines and all hoses for installation purposes. Cap all lines and all hoses in order to prevent foreign material from entering the fuel system.

  1. Unlock and open the access cover (1) on the left side of the machine behind the operator's platform.

  1. Disconnect hose (2) .

  1. Disconnect hose (4) .

  1. Disconnect hose (6) .

  1. Remove two bolts and the two washers (3) .

  1. Remove water separator (5) .

Installation Procedure

  1. Place the water separator (5) in position and install two washers and two bolts (3) .

  1. Connect hose (6) .

  1. Connect hose (4) .

  1. Connect hose (2) .

  1. Close and lock the access cover (1) on the left side of the machine behind the operator's platform.
