Final Drive and Travel Motor - Install

  1. Make sure the mating surfaces of the travel motor, the final drive and the undercarriage frame assembly are clean and free of dirt and debris.

  1. Check the condition of the O-ring seals in the ends of hose assemblies (2) and (3). If any of the seals are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

  1. Fasten Tooling (A) and a hoist to travel motor and the final drive and put it in position in the undercarriage frame assembly. Make sure all mounting bolt holes are in alignment.

  1. Put a thin coat of 9S-3263 Thread Lock Compound on threads of sixteen bolts (4). Install sixteen bolts (4) that hold the final drive to the undercarriage frame assembly. Tighten the bolts evenly.

  1. Install two pressure relief valves (5) .

  1. Connect hose assemblies (2) and (3) to the travel motor.

  1. Reinstall the access cover assembly over the rear of the final drive.

    Note: Refer to the topic Operation & Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities and Refill Capacities" for the proper filling procedure and the proper levels for the hydraulic oil system.

  1. Check the oil level in the hydraulic oil tank. If necessary, fill it to the correct level.

End By:

  1. Install sprocket.
  2. Connect track assemblies.
