Carburetor Control Linkage

(1) Lever

Refer to the following steps in order to install the lever.

  1. Hold the throttle plate closed.

  1. Install lever (1) and tighten lever (1) to the shaft of the throttle plate. Install lever (1) at angle (A) to the following value:

    Engine with governor ... 15 degrees

    Engine with actuator ... 40 degrees

    Engine with 9Y-9118 Carburetor Control Group and 9Y-9119 Carburetor Control Group ... 40 degrees

    Engine with 2W-1857 Carburetor Control Group ... 40 degrees

  1. Drill a 3 mm (0.12 inch) hole through the lever and the shaft. Install pin (2) .

(2) Pin

(3) Nut

On G3412 Engines, tighten the nut on both ends of the rod to the following torque. ... 68 ± 14 N·m (50 ± 10 lb ft)

(4) Typical control rod

Refer to the following steps in order to install the control rod.

  1. Hold the carburetor lever (1) in the closed position.

  1. Hold the governor lever or hold the actuator lever in the shutoff position. Refer to subject Governor Lever or Actuator.

  1. Adjust rod (4). This rod should fit between lever (1) and the lever of the governor. Refer to subject Governor Lever or Actuator for the instructions on mounting procedures.

  1. Install rod (4) and tighten rod (4). There must be no binding in full travel of the control linkage.

    Note: G3408 Engines with electric governors require a spacer between rod (4) and lever (1) .
