(1) A typical control rod is shown in the illustration above. The control rod connects to the carburetor. On G3412 Engines, install the control rod on the outside of lever (2). On G3408 Engines, install the control rod on the opposite side of lever (2).

(2) Lever

In order to install the actuator lever, use the procedure that follows. Hold the control shaft in the shutoff position. Install lever (2) and tighten lever (2) to the shaft at angle (A) to the following values:

G3408 Engine ... 20 degrees

G3412 Engine ... 5 degrees

(3) Tighten the studs to the following torque. ... 14 ± 4 N·m (10 ± 3 lb ft)
