NOTE: This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI3235" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI3235" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Problem

G-Port Plumbing will be eliminated on 5130 Excavators. The problem with their use is erratic machine and pump operation, due to limited sealing ability and shuttle wear.

Rework Procedure

NOTE: Before disconnecting any hydraulic hoses, release the hydraulic pressure in the hydraulic system by pushing and pulling the hydraulic control levers several times.

NOTE: Hot oil and components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact the skin. Be sure that the engine and components are cool enough to touch with your bare hand prior to performing any service work.

NOTE: Apply a vacuum to the hydraulic tank or take other precautions to prevent oil from leaking during this procedure. Bleed all pumps to remove air from pumps.

G-PORT REMOVAL

1. Remove 141-1530 Hose Assembly (Line 11), 8X-1214 Hose Assembly (Line 12), 092-0759 Hose Assembly (Line 13), and 123-6418 Hose Assembly (Line 14) from 142-2439 Valve Group as shown in Illustration 1. The 142-2439 Valve Group is mounted on the wall of the right hand module.

2. Install four 9S-4191 Plugs and four 3J-1907 Seals in place of the removed Hose Assemblies in Step 1.

3. Remove 141-1530 Hose Assembly (Line 11), 6I-7922 Hose Assembly (Line 28), and attached connectors from the Implement Pump Group (RH) as shown in Illustration 2.

4. Remove the following from the port marked "G" on each of the Implement Pumps (right hand location). See Illustration 3 and 4.

102-0814 Bushing (using a puller as. and a M6 screw)
138-6780 Shuttle Valve

Install 9S-4191 Plug and 3J-1907 Seal into each of the two "G" Ports.

NOTE: It is critical that 138-6780 Shuttle Valve is removed.

5. Remove 8X-1214 Hose Assembly (Line12) and attached connectors from the Swing Pump as shown in Illustration 2.

6. Remove the following from the port marked "G" on each of the Implement Pumps (right hand location). See Illustration 3 and 4.

138-6780 Shuttle Valve

NOTE: It is critical that 138-6780 Shuttle Valve is removed.

Install 9S-4191 Plug and 3J-1907 Seal into each of the two "G" Ports.

7. Remove 092-0759 Hose Assembly (Line 13), 133-9136 Hose Assembly (Line 27), and attached connectors from the Implement Pump Group (LH) as shown in Illustration 5.

8. Remove the following from the port marked "G" on each of the Implement Pumps (right hand location). See Illustration 3 and 4.

138-6780 Shuttle Valve

NOTE: It is critical that 138-6780 Shuttle Valve is removed.

Install 9S-4191 Plug and 3J-1907 Seal into each of the two "G" Ports.

9. Follow 123-6418 Hose Assembly (Line 14) from the pump room, as shown in Illustration 2, to the junction plate (third from the rear) on the swing frame as shown in Illustration 6.

10. Follow and remove 141-7471 Hose Assembly (Line 4) across the swing frame and remove as shown in Illustration 7.

11. Remove 141-7471 Hose Assembly from the cab support plate Port #4 as shown in Illustration 8 & 9.

12. Install 5K-3546 button plug in the Port #4 in Step 11.

13. Remove 131-6896 Hose Assembly (Line 4) from 136-5080 Valve Group as shown in Illustration 10 & 11.

14. Install 9S-4191 Plug and 3J-1907 Seal in place of the removed Hose Assembly from Step 13.
