The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

The 393-5152 Pump Control Valve Gp may experience reduced performance on the machines listed above. The reduction in performance is due to the spools inside 393-5152 Pump Control Valve Gp seizing or sticking.

Solution

Caterpillar is aware of this problem and is recommending the following interim solution. In case of failure, replace the failed 393-5152 Pump Control Valve Gp with the same new part.

Note: Remove and inspect 483-9966 Hose As, 483-9965 Hose As, 376-5951 Hose As, 376-5950 Hose As, and 449-4411 Hose As and clean as needed.

Note: Obtain an oil sample for analysis. Refer to Contamination Control Guidelines, SEBF8447, "Filtration Procedure for Excavator Hydraulic Oil" as needed.
