The Factory Installed Cat® Compaction Control System for Landfill Compactors utilizes the following components:

  • CB460 display 17.8 cm (7.00 inch)

  • Rugged Zephyr2 GNSS antenna

  • AS450 angle sensor

  • MS952 GNSS receiver with option key installed and enabled for the GNSS SBAS Level of accuracy or MS952 GNSS receiver with option key installed and enabled for the GNSS RTK Level of accuracy

  • Machine ECMs (The machine ECMS provide the Compaction Control System with the machine speed and directions.)

Note: The Factory Installed Cat Compaction Control System on the landfill compactors will be offered with two different level of accuracy. The two different levels are Satellite Based Augmentation System (SBAS) (Low accuracy) and Real Time Kinematic (RTK) (High accuracy) options. These options result in two different GNSS receivers parts numbers.

The individual part number of the GNSS receiver will identify the level of accuracy option key that is installed on the receiver from the factory. Depending on the part number shipped from the factory, the receiver will contain either a high (RTK) option key or a low level of accuracy (SBAS) option key. Refer to Special Instruction, M0079896, "Cat® Compaction Control Configuration and Setup Procedure for Certain Landfill Compactors" for more specific information.

Note: The RTK level of accuracy requires a corrections source (i.e base station, IBSS, VRS) and correction data radio. RTK delivers pass count mapping and Cat Compaction Algorithm (CCA) mapping. Contact your Dealer Technology Representative to order a base station and/or data radio. SBAS level of accuracy requires no off-board infrastructure and delivers only pass count mapping.
