Description Of Change: An improved process is now used for Conditioner Gp Heater Clamps on certain Large Wheel Loader, Wheeled Dozer, Soil Compactor, and Landfill Compactor machines. The improved process will improve the service life of heater clamps.
Adaptable To: The following part is adaptable to the machines within the listed serial numbers, and is effective with all machines after the listed serial numbers.
If the 9X-2488 Hose Clamp and/or the 159-1503 Hose Clamp in the Conditioner Gp are loose or leaking, perform the following rework instructions:
Item | Qty | Part Number | Part Name |
1 | 2 | Hose Clamp | |
2 | 2 | Hose Clamp |
Rework Procedure
- Remove the heater hose and clean the surface of the formed tube.

Illustration 1 g06142806 (A) 25.4 mm (1.00 inch) - Reinstall the heater hose to the formed tube with dimensions (A) from bead to hose end. Refer to Illustration 1.
- Inspect the hose clamp for damage and replace as needed.

Illustration 2 g06142809 (B) 5.00 mm (0.196 inch) - Position the hose clamp to the correct distance from the hose bead. The distance from the end of the hose clamp closest to the hose bead should be dimension (B). Refer to Illustration 2.
- For either the 9X-2488 Hose Clamp or the 159-1503 Hose Clamp, torque the clamp to the recommended
7.5 ± 1 N·m (66.38 ± 8.85 lb in) .Note: Use of a manual torque wrench is preferred to attain
7.5 ± 1 N·m (66.38 ± 8.85 lb in) . If an automatic torque gun is used, it must be an electric direct drive type (not clutch type).Note: Do not use a pneumatic torque tool. Ensure that RPM of the electric direct drive tool is between 60 and 200 (RPM greater than 200 can damage clamps and will result in improper torque readings).
