Start By:

  1. Remove the Differential Pinion.

Note: The same disassembly procedure is used for the front differential pinion and for the rear differential pinion.

  1. Remove bolt (1) and yoke assembly (2).

  2. Remove O-ring seal (3) inside the yoke assembly.

  3. Remove bolts (5) and retainer (4).

  4. Use Tooling (A) to remove seal (6). Remove seal (6).

  5. Use Tooling (B) to remove retaining ring (7). Remove retaining ring (7) and locking washer (8).

  6. Use Tooling (C) to remove lock nut (9) from the pinion shaft.

  7. Remove lock nut (9) and notched washer (10).

  8. Use suitable press to remove pinion shaft assembly (11) from pinion housing (12). Remove pinion shaft assembly (11).

  9. Remove bearing cone (13).

  10. Remove O-ring seal (14).

  11. Use suitable press to remove bearing cup (15) from the pinion housing. Remove bearing cup (15).

  12. Use two suitable pry bars to remove bearing cup (16) from the pinion housing. Remove bearing cup (16).

  13. Use a suitable press and Tooling (D) to remove bearing cone (17). Remove bearing cone (17) from the pinion shaft assembly.

  14. Remove bearing cone (17) from the pinion shaft assembly.
