Generation 4 Cat^® MineStar System Onboard installation hardware is now available.

A new display, display mounting, harness, and installation kits for Cat^® MineStar Fleet Onboard and Cat^® Detect Proximity Awareness are now available. The new mounting and harnessing provides quality, feature improvements, and adaptability to more models.

The new installations kits provide the following improvements:

• Model-specific installation for F series Large Mining Trucks

• The replacement of RJ45 receptacles with a 6-pin DT connector for reliability

• Mid Precision GPS that can be serviced via Ethernet connection

• New G407 7 inch touchscreen display

• Elimination of the backup battery component

For Fleet Onboard and Proximity Awareness new hardware installations, a high-level "New Customer" installation kit will be required along with display mounting, GPS antenna mounting, and a software license. Some installations may require more kits such as the Body Up and Reverse Input switch kit for non-Cat machines.

New Part Numbers

The new part numbers associated with Gen 4 hardware are listed in Table 1.

New Customer Installation Kits

New customer kit includes the following kits:

• Monitor Display (G407) Kit - Includes G407 display and application software.

• Base Installation Kit - The Base Kit contains power harness along with more application specific harnessing.

• Ethernet Switch Kit - Ethernet switch kit contains the Ethernet switch and harnessing.

• Ethernet Adapter Kit - Adapter kit contains components to connect Ethernet switch to a third-party wireless radio. For Non-Cat Ethernet switch installations, the 437-4693 Adapter Kit will be required and must be ordered separately.

• MPGPS Kit - The GPS kits provide the Onboard system with location data and include the module, antenna, mounting, cabling, and harnessing.

• Interface Module Kit(as required) - The interface module will be required for any machine not equipped with stand-alone VIMS 3G supporting TMAC messaging. The kit contains the module, mounting, and harnessing for installation. Connections can be made using CAN or Serial depending on the software installed on the Machine VIMS module. Refer to "VIMS Software & Current Releases" in the "Flash Software Download" section of SIS web for more details.

New customer kit does not include the following kits:

• Display Mounting Kit - Kit contains the mounting hardware and brackets required to install the display in each application.

• GPS Antenna Mounting Kit (as required) - The antenna mast kits allow the GPS antenna to be mounted to the machine. For additional information consult technical representatives for machine compatibility.

• Body Up and Reverse Switch Kit (as required) - The body up switch kit will be needed for any machine not equipped with a VIMS to interface module connection to provide a switched input into the interface module.

• Software License - Allows for off board connection to MineStar Office.

For Fleet Onboard and Proximity Awareness upgrade installations, Monitor display (CMPD) to G407, a display upgrade kit, and display mounting kit are required.

New Display upgrade Kit

New display upgrade kit includes the following kits:

• Monitor Display (G407) Kit - Includes Monitor display (G407) and application software.

• Adapter Harness for Power and Camera - Adapts from original CMPD display harness and replaces CMPD camera harness.

New display upgrade kit does not include the following kit:

• Display Mounting Kit - Kit contains the mounting hardware and brackets required to install the display in each application.

Hardware Display Service

The Monitor display (G407) is flashed and serviced through an Ethernet connection. To connect to the display over Ethernet, the following service kit or harnesses are required:

• 479-4193 Wiring Cable Assembly - Display to 9-Pin Cat Ethernet Service

• 425-6889 Cable As - 9-Pin Cat Ethernet Service to RJ45 connection

New Installation Kits

The installation of Cat MineStar System onboard for new installs will require the following kits:

• MineStar Onboard Hardware Kit

• Display Mounting Kit

• GPS Antenna Mast Kit

• Software License for Fleet Onboard and/or Proximity Awareness

Note: F series Large Mining Trucks are classified as pre or post serial break. All machines built after the serial break have factory installed cab display Ethernet harnesses. The machine serial numbers classified as post are listed below:

• SSP509-UP

• EMD77-UP

• ERM214-UP

• LAJ319-UP

• WSP113-UP

Note: For VIMS 3G machines to be compatible with Cat^® MineStar System, machines must have software that supports TMAC messaging. Refer to "VIMS Software & Current Releases" in the "Flash Software Download" section of SIS web for more details or consult your local technology representative. If VIMS 3G software supporting TMAC is not available, health interface module will be required for GPS Fleet Onboard communications with the Office.

Upgrade Installation Kits

To upgrade an existing installation from a CMPD display to a G407 display, the following kits will be required.

• Display Upgrade Kit

• Display Mounting Kit

• Display Mounting Hardware (If only the bracket is ordered)
