Engine and Transmission - Remove and Install

Start By:

Remove the engine enclosure (hood).
Remove the rear chassis support.
Remove the piston pump (hydraulic and steering).
Remove the cooling system package.
Remove the driveshaft.

Personal injury or death may result from failure to adhere to the following procedures.
Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire.
Clean up all leaked or spilled fuel. Do not smoke while working on the fuel system.

Turn the disconnect switch OFF or disconnect the battery when changing fuel filters.

Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Attach Tooling (B), Tooling (C), and a suitable lifting device to engine and transmission (80). The weight of engine and transmission (80) is approximately 2585 kg (5700 lb).
Remove mounting bolts (81) and engine and transmission (80).

Installation Procedure

Install engine and transmission (80) in the reverse order of removal.
1. Tighten nut (59) to a torque of 26 ± 4 N·m (230 ± 35 lb in).
2. Tighten nuts (46) to a torque of 21 ± 3 N·m (186 ± 27 lb in).
3. Tighten bolt (44) to a torque of 4.4 ± 1 N·m (39 ± 9 lb in).
4. Tighten bolt (43) to a torque of 6.2 ± 0.6 N·m (55 ± 5 lb in).
