PM-102 Cold Planer Caterpillar

Stopping the Engine

Usage:

PM-102 Z2X

NOTICE

Stopping the engine immediately after it has been working under load, can result in overheating and accelerated wear of the engine components.

See the following stopping procedure, to allow the engine to cool, and to prevent excessive temperatures in the turbocharger center housing, which could cause oil cooking problems.

  1. Before stopping the engine, allow the engine to run at low idle for 5 minutes. The engine must idle with no load. This procedure allows the hot areas of the engine to cool gradually. This procedure extends the life of the engine.

  2. Be sure that all the controls are in the OFF position. Be sure that all the controls are in the proper position for parking the machine.

  3. Turn the engine start switch to the OFF position. Remove the key.
