Description of Change: The speed sensor mounting group has been improved on the machines listed above. Blue Loctite 243 is now used as a thread sealant on the sensor mounting threads to provide better retention.

For 424B JRN machines, apply blue Loctite 243 to the threads of 239-0844 Sensor (1) .
Mount sensor (1) on bracket with a maximum air gap of 1.5 mm (0.06 inch) between sensor (1) and spacer fitted on the transmission yoke.
Tighten the nuts supplied with sensor (1) to 20.0 ± 0.5 N·m (177.0 ± 4.4 lb in) in 399-9406 Sensor Mounting Gp.

For 424B JRY machines, apply blue Loctite 243 to the threads of 239-0844 Sensor (1) .
Mount sensor (1) on bracket with a minimum air gap of 0.5 mm (0.02 inch) and a maximum air gap of 1.5 mm (0.06 inch) between sensor (1) and spacer fitted on the transmission yoke.
Tighten the nuts supplied with sensor (1) to 25 ± 5 N·m (221 ± 44 lb in) in 282-2177 Sensor Mounting Gp .
The improved 399-9406 Sensor Mounting Gp and 282-2177 Sensor Mounting Gp are adaptable to machines and effective in production with machines that are listed in Table 1.
