A New Clutch Wave Spring Is Now Used On Certain 14M and 16M Motor Graders {3063, 3155, 3170}

Description of Change: A new clutch wave spring is now available for 14M and 16M Motor Grader transmissions. The revised manufacturing process increases the wave spring hardness to help extend the life of the spring.
Adaptable To: The new wave spring is adaptable to the following machines:
- 14M (S/N: B9J1-1450; R9J1-1500)
- 16M (S/N: B9H1-866; R9H1-973)
- 14M (S/N: B9J1451-UP; R9J1501-UP)
- 16M (S/N: B9H867-UP; R9H974-UP)

Former 246-8800 Wave Springs should be replaced during scheduled transmission rebuilds or if a clutch failure is experienced. Former 246-8800 Wave Springs should also be replaced if the minimal clutch stack height does not meet the minimal clutch stack thickness. Refer to Specifications, RENR8481, "Transmission" for more information.
Note: New 442-6257 Wave Springs now have a yellow stripe for clear visual detection as shown in Illustration 1. The 442-6257 Wave Springs no longer need replaced during scheduled transmission rebuilds or after a clutch failure.
