Procedure to Update the Cab Wiring Group on Certain 773E and 777D Off-Highway Trucks{1408, 7301}

Usage:

Off-Highway Truck/Tractor:
773E (S/N: ASK1-UP)
777D (S/N: FKR1-UP)

Introduction

This special instruction contains the information required to update the cab wiring group. This procedure will improve the service life of the rocker switch located in the cab door.

Park the machine on a smooth, level surface.

Lower the work tool to the ground and engage the parking brake.

Stop the engine and remove the key.

Block the wheels and install the steering frame lock.

  1. Prepare the machine for service.

  1. Access the rear of the cab, and drill a 20.5 mm (0.80708 inch) above the existing hole. Refer to Illustration 2.

    Note: Ensure that there are no sharp edges on the new hole.

  1. Install plate assembly (1) to the rear of the cab using two screws (2) and two hard washers (3), as indicated in Illustration 3.

  1. Install two relays (4) to plate assembly (1) using two screws (5) .

  1. Connect cab harness assembly (6) to two relays (4) .

  1. Install clip (7) to the air tank supporting plate, and secure cab harness assembly (6) to clip (7) with one cable strap (8) .

  1. Remove the existing 139-0673 Cab Harness As .

  1. Connect the jumper harness from cab harness assembly (6) to the cab harness assembly that was disconnected in Step 7.

  1. Connect the jumper harness from cab harness assembly (6) to the power window harness.

  1. Route and secure cab harness assembly (6) with nine cable straps (8) .

  1. Secure cab harness assembly (6) with four cable straps (8) .

  1. Route cab harness assembly (6) through the hole with one grommet (9) .

  1. Remove the left side interior door panel. Remove the existing harness assembly and grommet, and route cab harness assembly (6) through the opening, secure in place with grommet (10) .

  1. Connect cab harness assembly (6) JP-C6 to power window harness CM-C2. Connect cab harness assembly (6) JP-C2 to power window harness CM-C1.

  1. Secure cab harness assembly (6) with four cable straps (8) .

  1. Key on the machine and verify proper window operation.

  1. Install the left door cover and the cab rear back cover.
