General Information (Main Control Valve)
The main control valve is situated in the hydraulic circuit between the main hydraulic pump and the travel motor, blade/stabilizers, implement cylinders and the grapple cylinders.
The main control valve determines the direction and speed of the implement cylinders and motors in proportion to the movement of the operator joysticks and travel lever/pedals. The primary valve spools control the following components:
- Blade and stabilizers (RAISE and LOWER)
- Boom cylinder (RAISE and LOWER)
- Bucket tilt or grapple rotate (LEFT and RIGHT)
- Bucket cylinder (IN and OUT)
- Fore boom cylinder (RAISE and LOWER)
- Steering cylinder (LEFT and RIGHT)
- Stick cylinder (IN and OUT)
- Travel motor (FORWARD and REVERSE)
The hydraulic system contains the following pumps: main pump that supplies oil to the main control valve, a swing pump, a medium pressure pilot pump and hydraulic fan pump.
