Table 1
Item  Qty  Part  Specification Description
10  1D-4610 Bolt  Install bolts and tighten to 250 ± 25 N·m (184 ± 18 lb ft). Loosen every other bolt and again tighten to 250 ± 25 N·m (184 ± 18 lb ft) with an additional 60 ± 5 degree rotation. Loosen the remaining bolts and again tighten to 250 ± 25 N·m (184 ± 18 lb ft) with an additional 60 ± 5 degree rotation.
2J-3507 Full Nut  Torque to 600 ± 100 N·m (440 ± 74 lb ft)
Mounting surfaces to be free of paint and grease prior to assembly.
0S-1591 Bolt  Torque to 47 ± 9 N·m (35 ± 7 lb ft)
Mounting surfaces to be free of paint and grease prior to assembly.
314-4126 Duo-Cone Seal Gp  Rubber toric rings and all surfaces contacting the rubber toric rings must be clean and dry at assembly. Apply a think film of oil to contacting surfaces of the metal seals prior to the assembly. The seal rings must be assembled square with the bore and toric must not be bulged or twisted.
6V-6638 O-Ring Seal  Lubricate lightly with the lubricant being sealed
6G-9079 Shim Pack  Total shim thickness is 3.9 mm (0.15 inch)
The following wheel bearing setting procedure may be performed with or without the brake group installed and with or without the duo-cone seals installed. If the brake group is installed, the parking brake must be released. Make sure that the bearing cups are fully seated against the bore backfaces in the wheel and the outer bearing cone slides freely over the spindle. The bolts should be tightened in a crossing pattern at each step.
To obtain the wheel bearing preload with a vertical assembly of parts only, install the retainer with five new bolts, equally spaced. Tighten the bolts to 80 N·m (59 lb ft) and rotate the wheel two revolutions. Repeat this tightening/rotating sequence two more times. Measure the gap between the spindle and the retainer through the two opposite holes in the retainer. Average the gap readings and add 0.508 mm (0.020 inch) to this figure. Install the shim pack equal to this size + 0 mm (+ 0 inch)/ - 0.050 mm (- 0.0020 inch)
422-9075 Duo-Cone Seal Gp  Rubber toric rings and all surfaces contacting the rubber toric rings must be clean and dry at assembly. Apply a think film of oil to contacting surfaces of the metal seals prior to the assembly. The seal rings must be assembled square with the bore and toric must not be bulged or twisted.
10  Mounting surfaces to be free of paint and grease prior to assembly.
11  68  2J-3505 Full Nut  Torque to 880 ± 80 N·m (650 ± 59 lb ft)
12  205-9874 Speed Sensor Gp  Seal the sensor threads with Loctite 536.
Torque to 30 ± 4 N·m (265 ± 35 lb in)
13  5T-8041 Adapter  Seal the threads with Loctite 536.
Torque to 55 ± 7 N·m (40 ± 5 lb ft)
14  5T-8169 Shim  Use as required to obtain dimension.
Shim thickness 0.8 mm (0.03 inch)
15  5T-8168 Shim  Use as required to obtain dimension.
Shim thickness 0.05 mm (0.002 inch)
16  5T-8042 Shim  Use as required to obtain dimension.
Shim thickness 0.16 mm (0.006 inch)
