The Power Train Wiring Group Has Been Improved on 793F Off-Highway Trucks {1408}

Service Magazine SEPD1741, 20 February 2014, "The Power Train Wiring Group Has Been Improved on 793F Off-Highway Trucks". Disregard this article. Refer to the article that follows.

Description of Change: The power train wiring group is improved with new control harness assembly and sensor harness assembly. The routing of harness assemblies has also been improved. The improved wiring group will provide adequate clearance between components and eliminate any interferences, and improves the service life of the power train.

New 449-0988 Control Harness As (1) replaces the former 297-4836 Alarm Harness As in the chassis wiring group.

Note: The 297-4836 Alarm Harness As is used on the SSP, SND, and RBT trucks.New 449-8195 Sensor Harness As (2) replaces the former 393-0376 Sensor Harness As in the chassis wiring group.

Note: The 393-0376 Sensor Harness As is only used on the RBT truck.Follow the below instruction to inspect and replace the harness assemblies.

  1. Check 297-4836 Alarm Harness As (A) and 393-0376 Sensor Harness As (B) at the location shown in Illustration 2. If the harnesses has external damages as similar to Illustration 3, then replace 297-4836 Alarm Harness As with new 449-0988 Control Harness As (1) and replace 393-0376 Sensor Harness As with new 449-8195 Sensor Harness As (2) .

  1. If the harness braid has been cut through a little with no damage to internal wires, then wrap the braid with a tape.

  1. Bolt the longer side of the bracket to the transmission flange and orient at 45 degrees from vertical. Orient and mount clip (C) on top of the bracket as shown in Illustration 4.

    Note: Ensure that, the harness is not rubbing against any other surfaces which may lead to damage in the future.

The improved power train wiring group is adaptable to machines SND1-131, SSP1-999, and RBT1-171.

The improved power train wiring group is effective in production with machines SND132-UP, SSP1000-UP, and RBT172-UP.
