NOTE: | This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI32415" as the Part Number and "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI32415" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code. |

PROBLEM
The engine identification plate and label need to be replaced on certain C3.4B Industrial Engines. The engines were shipped with the incorrect serial number prefix and serial numbers. |

ACTION REQUIRED
Prior to initiating the rework, contact Steve Page by email at Page_Steve@perkins.com identifying the engine serial number so the correct label and plate can be sent. Refer to the attached Rework Procedure for details of how to rework the identification label and identification plate. |

Before completing this rework, review the safety actions in the Operation and Maintenance Manual for the engine. Refer to the cross reference table to determine existing serial number and new CJ3 prefix serial number. |

Remove existing label and destroy. Prior to fitting the label be sure the mounting location is free from any debris, loose material and grease. The label area can be degreased using a suitable a proprietary cleaner prior to fitment of the new label. Remove the backing film from the new label provided. Stick to the pedestal in the same position as the removed label. Locate the metallic identification plate and drill the rivet heads off. Using a suitable parallel pin punch , drive the rivet tails out. Destroy the old plate. Remove the backing film from the new metallic identification plate provided and stick in the same position as the removed plate. Using 2mm pop rivets, secure plate in position. |
