NOTE: | This Program must be administered either before or after failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS44606" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code. |

PROBLEM
The existing solenoid can fail due to contamination and or debris from the air supply on certain C32 Engines. If the existing solenoid fails the engine can have intermittant starting issues. |

The new solenoid (465-8142, KIT-SERVICE) is a bolt-on direct replacement for the old outgoing solenoid (385-1749, KIT-SERVICE). The new screen is only needed if the air system is dirty. 1. Unplug the Amseal connection from the engine wiring harness. 2. Cut off the MAIN air supply to the starter. 3. Remove the small control air line from the solenoid valve body. 4. Remove the 3 screws connecting the solenoid valve to the starter body. 5. Remove the 4 screws that connecting the control module to the starter body. 6. Remove the control module. 7. Reverse the above process exactly to install the new control module, using Loctite 242 on all 7 screws. Plug in the module, then turn the air back on. |
