Introduction

The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problems

Table 1 and Table 2 show the current release software for the VIMS 3G Large Off-Highway Trucks. With this current software there are known issues and solutions to these issues. Certain Large Off-Highway Trucks will require an additional CANip harness. Refer to ""Configuration Change Requirement Notification" " for additional information.

The following problems are identified with the new software release. The solutions to these known issues are identified in the ""Solutions" " section.

  • TKPH Channels "Machine Front Tire Weight - Speed" and "Machine Rear Tire Weight - Speed" are showing FMI 19 (condition not met) in the "Trend" reports only. In VIMSpc these channels will not show up as selectable "Trends".

  • TMAC communications stoppage, due to simultaneous multiple file download from Minestar.

  • Intermittent value of zero populated on GPS X, Y, or Z coordinates. The GPS corrects itself within one to two seconds with the correct coordinate. This issue has been seen in installation scenarios utilizing the Tope onboard display. This intermittent value does not affect any machine positioning functions.

  • VIMS webpage not displaying the GPS App File. Currently the uploaded App file shows "Unavailable".

  • VIMSpc not showing "Transmission Shift Time Trends" and "Histograms".

  • VIMSpc not able to connect due to a "Windows Management Instrumentation" (WMI) error. VIMSpc needs WMI to function properly and utilize network adapters for connectivity.

  • "Exception Happens" error while loading GPS App file.

  • Hoist System parameters are not reporting in "Continuous Datalogger and Trend" reports.

Solutions

Known issue:

  • TKPH Channels "Machine Front Tire Weight - Speed" and "Machine Rear Tire Weight - Speed" are showing FMI 19 (condition not met) in the "Trend" reports only. In VIMSpc these channels will not show up as selectable "Trends".

The solution is to refer to the "Datalogger" files for the channel details.

Known issue:

  • TMAC communications stoppage, due to simultaneous multiple file download from Minestar.

The solution is to key cycle the power to VIMS and the communications will recover.

Known issue:

  • Intermittent value of zero populated on GPS X, Y, or Z coordinates. The GPS corrects itself within one to two seconds with the correct coordinate. This issue has been seen in installation scenarios utilizing the Tope onboard display. This intermittent value does not affect any machine positioning functions.

The solution is to wait the one to two seconds for the correct coordinates to populate.

Known issue:

  • VIMS webpage not displaying the GPS App File. Currently the uploaded App file shows "Unavailable".

The solution is to refresh the webpage once the GPS App file has been loaded to display the app file name.

Known issue:

  • VIMSpc not showing "Transmission Shift Time Trends" and "Histograms".

The solution is to update to VIMSpc 2013a or update VIMSpc 2011a to master database v13.1.1. Refer to Special Instruction, REHS7337 for additional details.

Known issue:

  • VIMSpc not able to connect due to a "Windows Management Instrumentation" (WMI) error. VIMSpc needs WMI to function properly and utilize network adapters for connectivity.

The solution is that VIMSpc now has an embedded script to fix this windows issue. Refer to Special Instruction, REHS7309 for the WMI troubleshooting procedure.

Known issue:

  • "Exception Happens" error while loading GPS App file.

The solution is to select "OK" and continue. The file loads and executes properly. Update to VIMSpc 2013a per Special Instruction, REHS7337. When using a web browser for this function, disable the script debugging feature. Refer to Illustration 1.

Known issue:

  • Hoist System parameters are not reporting in "Continuous Datalogger and Trend" reports.

No solution is defined at this time.
