The 2W3422 Flywheel Housing is the service replacement for the 8N5013 Flywheel Housing that is on some of the above engines. Before the 2W3422 Flywheel Housing can be installed on these engines, it is necessary to make some modification to the flywheel housing. This instruction gives the modification procedure.
1. The thirteen bolt holes (A) and (B) have a 13.89 Ø (.547" Ø). These holes are for the bolts that fasten the flywheel housing to the cylinder block, and they must be made larger so they are 15.04 Ø (.592" Ø).
2. The original spot face (smooth machined surface) at location (C), for bolt holes (A), is approximately 25.4 Ø (1.00" Ø). This spot face must be made larger so it is 28.58 Ø (1.125" Ø).
3. The replacement flywheel housing is now ready for installation.
