Do not perform any procedure in this publication or order any parts until you understand the information that is contained in this publication.
Safety
Do not operate or work on this machine unless you have read and understand the instructions and warnings in the Operation and Maintenance Manuals. Failure to follow the instructions or heed the warnings could result in injury or death. Contact your Cat dealer for replacement manuals. Proper care is your responsibility. |
Accidental engine starting can cause injury or death to personnel working on the equipment. To avoid accidental engine starting, disconnect the battery cable from the negative (−) battery terminal. Completely tape all metal surfaces of the disconnected battery cable end in order to prevent contact with other metal surfaces which could activate the engine electrical system. Place a Do Not Operate tag at the Start/Stop switch location to inform personnel that the equipment is being worked on. |

Use the provided 150-6256 Bolts and 8T-2658 Locknuts to secure both Retaining Brackets on both sides of the Camera. Use the included
Illustration 2 | g03612517 |
Note: Ensure that the Retaining Brackets are installed on the Camera in the orientation shown in Illustration 3. The 6V-7357 Bolts that are used to mount the Camera to the back door should be farther behind the lens of the Camera. Otherwise, the Camera view can be obstructed.

The removal of the plate will uncover a hole on the back door of the machine. Mount 336-6684 Camera Gp (1) so that the lens of the camera faces this hole and enables a clear view towards the rear of the machine. At the same time, insert the included 6V-7357 Bolts on top of the camera group upward and through the slots on the back door where the removed plate was previously attached. Place one of the included 129-3178 Locknuts and 9X-8256 Washers on each bolt and then tighten to
Note: The 6V-7357 Bolts, 9X-8256 Washers, and 129-3178 Locknuts are included in 336-6684 Camera Gp (1). These components replace removed bolts (B) and nuts (C).
Note: Inorder to adjust the aim of the lens of the camera, use the included

Bend the camera group harness (8) down the edge of the back door. Run camera group harness (8) towards the link located on the edge of the back door. Connect the camera group harness (8) to 354-5607 Connector As (9) of the cab harness assembly (5). Secure the connection with one cable strap (3). Ensure that the connections match the configuration in Table 3.

Continue running cab harness assembly (5) down the edge of the back door. Bend cab harness assembly (5) towards the interior of the machine below 345-3480 Coolant Recovery Gp (E). Next, route cab harness assembly (5) underneath 345-3480 Coolant Recovery Gp (E) and along 361-6391 Platform Harness As (F). Reach in with cab harness assembly (5) towards 3K-5178 Grommet (G). This component is located on the 345-5015 Bracket As (part of the firewall). Pull cab harness assembly (5) out of the 345-5015 Bracket As through grommet (G).
Note: The 345-5015 Bracket As (part of the firewall). This component would surround 3K-5178 Grommet (G).

Carefully lower the cab to the original position so as not to pinch or damage cab harness assembly (5). Enter the cab and locate the 155-2272 Connector Plug As from the right-hand side of the instrument panel, which is located on the lower right-hand side of the rear window.
Note: If the cab is equipped with any of the enclosed cab options, the 345-6023 Cover (cover for C column) (K) on the right-hand side of the machine will need to be removed first. This action is necessary in order to find the 155-2272 Connector Plug As. To remove the cover, remove 8Y-5947 Fastener (L) and discard, and then pull the cover away.

Unplug 374-7465 Seal Cap (M) from 155-2272 Connector Plug As (N). Either discard the cap or simply leave it tie-strapped to the instrument panel harness assembly, whichever seems more convenient. Connect the 3E-3373 Connector Plug As from cab harness assembly (5) onto the connection LC-3 from 155-2272 Connector Plug As (N) until the plug clicks into place. Use the included 3S-2093 Cable Strap (6) to secure this connection. Ensure that the connections match the configuration in Table 4.
Note: Place the C-Column Cover (K) back if necessary by using one of the included 8Y-5947 Fastener.
Illustration 18 | g03426884 |
Raise the cab. Lock the cab in the upright position again by using the safety pins. Then, carefully pull platform harness assembly (F). Leave enough slack to allow the cab to be lifted and lowered without tugging or damaging platform harness assembly (F). Next, use five 7K-1181 Cable Straps (3) to attach platform harness assembly (F) to cab harness assembly (5).
Illustration 19 | g03426916 |
Return to the rear of the machine and reach in towards 3K-5178 Grommet (G) in order to secure cab harness assembly (5) to platform harness assembly (F) with two 7K-1181 Cable Straps (3) near the sealing group (firewall). The sealing group (firewall) is not shown but would surround 3K-5178 Grommet (G).

Continue strapping cab harness assembly (5) towards the back door of the machine and underneath coolant fluid tank (E). Secure cab harness assembly (5) to 4P-7581 Clip (G) attached to platform harness assembly (F) using one 7K-1181 Cable Straps (3).
Illustration 22 | g03426951 |
Attach cab harness assembly (5) to the link located on the edge of the back door and next to coolant fluid tank (E) by using one 7K-1181 Cable Straps (3). Make sure that there is enough slack on cab harness assembly (5) to allow the back door to open and close freely without tugging or damaging cab harness assembly (5).
Use one 7K-1181 Cable Strap (3) to secure camera group harness (8) to the link located on the back door and right next to the hole for camera group (1).
Note: The camera group harness (8) may have some excess length, so it might be necessary to coil the harness on the section that will be strapped to the link located on the back door by forming a loop of approximately
Use the entire length of the provided seal adhesive (4) to protect the camera group cab harness assembly from rubbing against the back door when opening and closing the back door. Peel off the cover on seal (4) to expose the side with the adhesive. Let seal (4) rest on the groove of the back door right below the camera cable with the adhesive side facing down. Cut and discard any excess Seal. Refer to Illustration 23 for the correct location of Seal (4).
