This special instruction provides information for installing the 388-8285 Engine Speed Control Pedal.

Installing the Pedal Governor

  1. Install the 345-6136 Pedal As by aligning the holes on the pedal assembly with the holes near the foot rest area inside the 345-6200 Canopy As of the cab.

  2. Insert one 3E-4352 Hard Washer (2) and one 127-2170 Screw (3) onto each hole from the outside of the canopy assembly.

    (4) FP-C2 Connector

  3. Plug the FP-C2 connector (4) from the pedal harness assembly onto the 6-Pin Delphi receptacle on the pedal assembly.

    Note: Make sure that the letters on the receptacle correspond to each of the colors of the FP-C2 connector (4), as shown in the table below:

  4. Route the cable as shown in Illustration 5. Strap the shown section of harness assembly cable to the link on the canopy assembly by using one 3S-2093 Cable Strap (5).

  5. Insert a 206-1345 Mount-Fir Strap (6) on the left of the pedal assembly and strap the harness assembly securely to the harness assembly.

    Note: When strapping the harness assembly to the link on the canopy assembly, ensure that the harness dose not sharply curve around the grooves of the pedal assembly. Sharp curves and pulling might damage the harness assembly.

  6. Continue routing the harness assembly over the plate on the right-hand side of the canopy assembly and upward towards the top of the canopy assembly.

  7. Locate the harness assembly of the instrument panel and remove the 374-7465 Seal Cap from the 155-2267 Connector Plug Assembly.

  8. Cut the strap and discard along with the seal cap to avoid any unwanted noises from the cap seal vibrating against the canopy assembly column.

    (7) FP-C1 Connector

  9. Pug the connector FP-C1 from the receptacle harness assembly into the Connector L-C4 from the right-hand panel harness assembly (7). Ensure that the connections correspond to the ones shown on Table 2 below.

  10. Use one 3S-2093 Cable Strap to reattach the connectors onto the link on the canopy assembly right column.

  11. To protect the harness assembly and for aesthetic purposes, install the included 345-6024 Post Cover and 345-6025 Post Cover on the left and right sides of the machine respectively by using one 8Y-5947 Fastener for each cover.
