Service Magazine; June 21, 1993; Page 7; "New Cylinder Assembly Provides Improved Valve Seat Retention" for G308 (2JF), G3512 (4KC), and G3516 (3RC) Engines. The third sentence in the Adaptable To section states: "The new 6I1713 Valve Set can NOT be used in earlier cylinder heads." This is NOT correct. The 6I1713 Valve Seat can be used in earlier cylinder heads if the depth of the valve set bore in the earlier cylinder head is increased to 16.00± 0.15 mm (.629± .006 in).

Description of Change: A new cylinder head assembly with improved valve seat retention is used. The depth of the valve seat retention bore in the cylinder head and the thickness of the valve seat insert have been increased. This will help retain the valve seats in the cylinder head.
Adaptable To: The new 4P8300 Cylinder Head Assembly is in effect with G3508 Engine (2JF211), G3512 Engine (4KC312), and G3516 Engine (3RC564). The new cylinder head assembly can be used as a direct replacement on earlier engines. The new 6I1713 Valve Seat can NOT be used in earlier cylinder heads. The new 4P8364 Cylinder Head Assembly includes the new 6I1713 Valve Seat and is available for the above engines in landfill applications.
