Pressure Switch (Parking Brake Oil)

Usage:

R3000H RCM

Illustration 1g03181239

The parking brake oil pressure switch is installed in the parking brake control valve. The parking brake control valve is located on the left side of the rear frame.

The parking brake oil pressure switch senses oil pressure in the parking brake circuit. The parking brake oil pressure switch is an input of the Power Train Electronic Control Module (Power Train ECM).

When the parking brake is disengaged and the parking brake oil pressure increases above the pressure switch actuation pressure, the pressure switch contact will open. The pressure switch sends a signal to the Power Train ECM. The Power Train ECM allows the transmission to select a direction and speed. The Power Train ECM will turn off the parking brake alert indicator.

When the parking brake is engaged or the parking brake oil pressure decreases below the pressure switch deactuation pressure, the pressure switch contact will close. The pressure switch sends a signal to the Power Train ECM. The Power Train ECM neutralizes the transmission (if the machine is in first speed). The Power Train ECM turns on the parking brake alert indicator.

Reference: For information on the parking brake oil pressure indicator, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Operator Controls".

When the machine is operated by the remote control system and the parking brake is engaged or the parking brake oil pressure decreases below the deactuation pressure, the pressure switch will close. The Power Train ECM receives a signal from the oil pressure switch. The Power Train ECM will turn on remote control light (1).

When the parking brake is disengaged and the parking brake oil pressure increases above the actuation pressure, the pressure switch will open. The Power Train ECM receives a signal from the oil pressure switch. The Power Train ECM will turn off remote control light (1).

Reference: For more information on the remote control light, refer to System Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Pressure Sensor (Parking Brake Oil)".
