Description of Change: A new top piston ring is used in the 3500 Family of Spark-Ignited Engines. The new plasma coated piston ring provides improved wear resistance at high temperatures.
Adaptable To: The new 7E7581 Plasma Coated Piston Ring is a direct replacement for the former 2W8797 Chrome Coated Piston Ring. The new piston ring is effective with the arrangement numbers (not serviced) as shown in the chart.
