1,1,1-Trichloroethane May Damage Deutsch C-E Electrical Connectors{1400,0645,0785,1450,1550,1900,3168,3225,3418,4294,4323,4450,5485,5700,7400,7450}
Usage:
The use of any solvent containing 1,1,1-Trichloroethane or other chlorinated solvent, such as 8T9011 or 4C4079 Cleaner Solvent, may damage some electrical connectors. The solvent can weaken or crack the non-metallic parts of the connectors. This can result in either of the following.
- The lock fingers may not retain the pins or sockets, and may pull out of the connector.
- The nonmetallic body (insulator) may break into pieces.
The only approved cleaner for electrical connectors is isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol or dry compressed air.
