1390 Track Feller Buncher Caterpillar

Operational Checks

Usage:

1390 B3F

------ WARNING! ------

To prevent personal injury when checks are made while the machine is in operation, make sure only approved personnel are on the machine. Keep other personnel off the machine and in view of the operator. Make sure checks are done in an open area.

----------------------

The operation checks can be used to find leakage in the hydraulic system. Also, the operation checks can be used to find failed valves or a failed hydraulic pump.

Make sure that the machine is resting on a smooth, level surface. The machine should be moved away from other operating machines and away from personnel.

  1. Start the engine. Move the hydraulic lockout control to the UNLOCKED position.

  1. Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 55 ± 5°C (130 ± 10°F).

  1. Extend the implement cylinders and retract the implement cylinders several times. Allow the implement cylinders to travel full stroke in each direction.

  1. Watch the cylinder as the cylinder is extended and retracted. The movement of the cylinder must be smooth and regular.

  1. Move the joysticks to the HOLD position.

  1. Observe the display monitor for any fault codes. If a fault code exists, fix the fault before you troubleshoot the hydraulic system.

  1. Shut off the engine.
