Air Inlet Manifold - Remove and Install

Removal Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

    The exhaust heat shield has been removed for photographic purposes.

  1. Remove bolts (1) and retainer (2). Disconnect sensor assembly (3).

  2. Remove bolts (4) and retainer (5). Disconnect hose assembly (6) and tube assembly (7).

  3. Remove bolts (11). Pry flanges (12) on the elbows away from air inlet manifold (13). Remove the O-ring seals from flanges (12).

  4. Attach a suitable lifting device to air inlet cover (10). The weight of air inlet cover (10) is approximately 25 kg (55 lb). Remove bolts (9). Remove air inlet cover (10) and the O-ring seal.

  5. Attach a suitable lifting device to air inlet manifold (13). The weight of air inlet manifold (13) is approximately 65 kg (145 lb). Remove bolts (8). Remove air inlet manifold (13).

Installation Procedure


NOTICE

  1. Attach a suitable lifting device to air inlet manifold (13). The weight of air inlet manifold (13) is approximately 65 kg (145 lb). Position air inlet manifold (13) on the engine. Install bolts (8).

  2. Attach a suitable lifting device to air inlet cover (10). The weight of air inlet cover (10) is approximately 25 kg (55 lb). Position the O-ring seal and air inlet cover (10) on air inlet manifold (13). Install bolts (9).

  3. Install the O-ring seals on flanges (12). Apply a light amount of glycerin to the bores for the O-ring seals between flanges (12) and the elbows. Position flanges (12) on air inlet manifold (13). Install bolts (11).

  4. Connect tube assembly (7) and hose assembly (6). Install retainer (5) and bolts (4).

  5. Connect harness assembly (3). Install retainer (2) and bolts (1).
