Level Surface Design

Usage:

A level surface is a simple project that you could use to get familiar with the AccuGrade System. A level pad can be constructed using a level surface design.

Note: You must save the new level surface design to a data card in the Display before you can work to the design.

Creating a Level Surface

A level surface requires an elevation and a name. Creating a level surface generates a design file. The design file then needs to be loaded in order for the system to give the machine guidance.

In order to create a level surface and then load the level surface in the field, complete the following steps:

    (2) Soft Key Labels

    (3) Soft Keys

    (4) Escape Key

    (5 ) Next Key

    (6) Power Key

    (7) "+" Key

    (8) Arrow Keys

    (9) "-" Key

    (10) "OK" Key

    (11) Menu Key

    (12) "Data Card Slot"

  1. From any Guidance Screen, press the Menu Key (11) .

  1. Press "Select Design" from the "Setup Menu - Configuration" Screen.

    The "Select Design File" dialog appears. Refer to Illustration 2.

  1. Press "New Level".

    The "New Design: Level Surface" dialog appears. Refer to Illustration 3.

  1. Do one of the following actions:

    1. Press the "Here" soft key in order to use the current elevation at the guidance point that has focus.

      • After you press the "Here" soft key, you can still use the arrow keys to change the values.

      • One of the "Blade: Left" or "Blade: Right" soft keys appears in the "Level Surface Design" dialog.

      • Use the arrow keys to enter the "design elevation".

      Note: If the "Here" soft key is not available, it means that a high accuracy position is not available. For more information, Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Troubleshooting Techniques".

    1. Use the arrow keys in order to enter the "design elevation".

  1. Press the "OK" key. The "Design Name" dialog appears. Refer to Illustration 4.

  1. The AccuGrade System gives the design a default name. Use the arrow keys in order to change the default design name.

  1. Press the "OK" key in order to accept the name and return to the "Select Design File" dialog. The design that was just created is highlighted.

  1. Press the "OK" key in order to load the new level surface design. The Plan View appears. Notice the following:

    • "Design: <Name>" now shows the name of the loaded design.

    • The soft keys "Alignment: None", "H. Offset: <Value>", "V. Offset: <Value>" are now available.
